From dan at ikayzo.org Tue Jun 20 10:47:54 2006 From: dan at ikayzo.org (Daniel Leuck) Date: Tue, 20 Jun 2006 10:47:54 -1000 Subject: Ikayzo.org Update Message-ID: Hi Guys, I wanted to let you know about a few relevant developments re: Ikayzo.org and its projects. - We have procured a new heavy duty server with the assistance of Ikayzo, inc. and Sam Joseph. It will be hosted in our office at the Manoa Innovation center here in Hawaii. The server has plenty of memory, which will resolve the performance and out of memory errors we have experienced with Confluence and Jira. The new server should be online within the next few weeks. - We are creating a new umbrella project for smaller projects, and projects that don't meet the strict Java-oriented criteria of Ikayzo.org top level projects. This will allow projects such as Sam's ruby based work to enjoy the benefits of the Ikayzo.org infrastructure. - We are upgrading to the newest versions of Jira and Confluence. We are discussing having each project be a space rather than its own site. This will allow us to share users, and also consume fewer resources. - We will be upgrading subversion and changing the backing filesystem to improve stability. - As most of you know, I am back home after a lengthy on location assignment in NY. This will allow me more time to work on Ikayzo.org and its projects. - As always, we are interested in assistance from companies and individuals in terms of time, hardware, etc. We can always use assistance from sys admins, designers, developers, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to email or drop me a line. Cheers, Daniel Leuck Ikayzo.org coordinator monkey +1 (808) 393-9119
